Make and Take an Ornament On Sunday, Dec. 4 the library will be hosting a ‘Make and Take’ event at Doanes Park Youth Center from 1-4 p.m. Each participant can select from several ornament designs or make all of them. As part of the Hill of Lights activities, this event draws return participants every year! Read more

Holiday Closings The library will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11 to celebrate Veteran’s Day. The library will also be closed on Thursday, Nov. 24 and Friday, Nov. 25 for Thanksgiving.

Book discussion groupDo you like to read and discuss books? If you answered yes, you should think about joining the monthly book discussion group.
Each month, the book discussion group selects a new book for the group to read. In November, the group will be meeting on Monday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. to discuss Death of a Bore by M.C. Beaton. Please contact us with your questions or get signed up to receive the discussion books.

Join the Teen Advisory BoardA Teen Advisory Board has started to meet at the library on the 1st Sunday of each month at 2 p.m. The board makes recommendations on purchases for the library, activities for teens and children of all ages! Being part of the board also provides volunteer hours for participants. If you or someone you know would like to participate, the next meeting is Sunday, Nov. 6.

B.E.S.T. potluck Monday, Nov. 28Bringing Education and Seniors Together (B.E.S.T.) will be holding their holiday potluck dinner on Friday, Nov. 18 at 12 p.m. at Doanes Park Youth Center. This annual event features wonderful food and great conversations! Contact the library to sign up and to let us know what dish you would like to bring to share with the group.

Consider joining Friends of the library The Friends of the Library are currently holding their annual membership drive. Please consider joining this great organization. The Friends provide funds for the purchase of Books on CD, DVDs and equipment for patron use. The membership drive has already exceeded last year in terms of the money raised. Need help on how to use a computer?One-on-one computer instruction is now available. Library staff members will cater instruction to your needs during a one hour session. Take advantage of this great opportunity on how to effectively use computers. Contact the library for more information.

Join in on the fun during Movie NightBring your family and join us for Family Movie Night on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. We supply the movie, popcorn and drinks. There is no charge for the movie and no pre-registration is required.
Mark your calendars for the remainder of the year as movies are held the third Thursday of each month; beginning at 6 p.m.

Share your collectibles in our displaysThe library is always looking for collections to be displayed in our large and small display cases. If you have a collection of items you could display, please let the library staff know. Other patrons would likely enjoy your collection as well.
