Pleasant Hill Police Department to receive LECC award

The Pleasant Hill Police Department along with other police professionals will receive an award on Thursday at the 2016 Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee’s (LECC) Conference in Coralville. These police professionals exemplified excellent leadership, coordination and sharing of resources during the November 2014 active shooter case within the City of Pleasant Hill. This case united Pleasant Hill officers and other law enforcement agencies; exemplifying teamwork to ensure the safety of the citizens within our community and Iowa.

This case truly exemplifies the different law enforcement agencies in Polk County that came together during this chaotic situation to share resources and intelligence to capture and convict a dangerous fugitive to restore security for the residents of Pleasant Hill. Look for more information about this award in the June monthly newsletter.
