Mosquito Spraying begins June 4th

With all the rain we have experienced, the mosquitoes are on their way and some have already arrived! Our Public Works Department will begin mosquito spraying Tuesday, June 4th at 7 p.m. They will spray all residential areas within the City of Pleasant Hill. Spraying will then occur every Tuesday and Thursday evening between 7 and 10:30 p.m.

The mist is an environmentally friendly product that is a "contact" insecticide. The product dissipates from the environment within hours of application and spraying does not occur if winds are higher than 10 mph.

To continue to protect yourself and your family, the Iowa Department of Public Health suggests using bug spray and wearing long sleeves.
