Pleasant Hill City Council awarded the design contract for a new public safety facility and renovations to the current facility to FEH Design. FEH Design brings a deep understanding of Pleasant Hill and decades of public safety experience to the table. Ryan Companies will serve as construction managers to ensure an efficient process from start to finish for the City.
“Public safety and emergency response are the top priority for the elected officials,” Mayor Sara Kurovski said. “Ensuring that we have the right facilities to be able to respond to residents and meet their public safety needs, can no longer sit on the back-burner. Providing new safe space for our officers to perform their duties and renovating the old space to expand for fire and EMS response is essential. We are excited about the team that has come together with FEH Design and Ryan Companies, in order to turn this 8-year long conversation into a reality.”
Phase one is building the new public safety facility. It is projected to cost approximately $12 million dollars. The new facility will become the new police department headquarters with room for apparatus bays for the fire department. This will allow for the appropriate amount of interview rooms, holding cells, evidence storage and more. It will improve response times to all service areas. Phase two is the renovation of the current facility and is budgeted at $4 million. The renovation of the current facility will create a command center for the fire department and provide the space needed to operate.

FEH Design was the original designer of the current facility in 1993 when the population was 4,285. Today, the population is more than 10,000 and growing. Ryan Companies coordinated the RFQ and design firm selection process and will continue to use their expertise to serve the best interest of the Pleasant Hill community throughout the design and construction of both phases.
