On Tuesday, November 27, 2018, Dave Ellis from Denman & Company presented the City of Pleasant Hill’s annual audit for the fiscal year 2018. The audit produced a clean opinion with no findings or material weaknesses. The City did not exceed the budget in any functional areas.
“Very rarely do we issue this type of audit report, with zero material weaknesses,” says Dave Ellis. “This is very good for the City.” Ellis added that Dena Spooner’s, Pleasant Hill City Clerk/Finance Director, and her staff’s excellent work throughout the year was appreciated.
The report found the City in good financial standing. The City of Pleasant Hill is significantly under the legal debt limit at only 13.3% as the result of fiscal responsibility. This allows City Council to make sound financial decisions.
