The annual Pleasant Hill and Altoona Cops 4 Kids event was established to foster positive relationships between police officers and children in the community. It is with the help of our communities locally and nationally we are able to provide gifts to children within our community.
On November 13, a chili feed and silent auction was held at Assembly Hall in Pleasant Hill from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to raise money. Through the communities generosity, $5,700 was raised by this event. All proceeds are strictly and solely utilized for the Cops 4 Kids program.
On Tuesday, Dec. 13 from 5 to 7:30 p.m., children within the Southeast Polk Community School District and Pleasant Hill Elementary
will have the opportunity to shop with a uniformed police officer for Christmas gifts at the Walmart Supercenter in Altoona. Adults can refer children under age 13 to Pleasant Hill Police Department by emailing Captain Kramer or Senior Officer Tufts at the Altoona Police Department. Be sure to include the name, ages of children, parents name, phone number, and address in the email.
Through the adoption of local families, our communities improve family’s holiday experience, and create a rewarding experience for everyone involved.
Donations are also being accepted at the Pleasant Hill Police Department, 5151 Maple Drive in Pleasant Hill.
