How to Use Your Des Moines Area Regional Transit (DART) Services

Community members of Pleasant Hill have several options to leave the driving to the Des Moines Area Regional Transit (DART). DART’s #1 Fairgrounds Route offers a cost-effective option for commuting to Des Moines. The route provides round-trip, peak-hours weekday service between Pleasant Hill to the new downtown DART Central Station where riders can connect to additional DART services.
Scheduled stops are on Sherrylynn and NE 56th Street in Pleasant Hill with Park & Ride locations are available at McDonalds, 1055 Sherrylynn Blvd (corner of University Avenue and Sherrylynn), and the Premier Bowling Alley, 655 NE 56th Street (corner of University Avenue and 56th).
  • The morning trips from McDonalds are at 6:15 a.m., 6:45 a.m., and 7:14 a.m.
  • The afternoon buses leave DART Central Station to return to the Pleasant Hill Park & Ride locations at 3:55 p.m., 4:45 p.m., and 5:20 p.m.
  • Cost is $1.75 per ride, or if you plan to ride on a regular basis save money with a DART monthly pass that is $48 and good for unlimited rides during the month of issue.
  • Have a bike? DART buses are equipped to carry bicycles!
