Fireworks Terms and Usage are Limited in Pleasant Hill

fireworks approved

Pleasant Hill City Council voted on Tuesday evening to limit the usage and sale of fireworks. The terms voted upon would go into effect on June 1, the same day the Iowa state law goes into effect.

Citizens within Pleasant Hill may discharge consumer fireworks on July 4 between the hours of noon to 11:00 p.m. and December 31 from noon to January 1 at 1 a.m. Those interested in selling fireworks must first possess a consumer fireworks seller license. In order to sell them to consumers, the display will only be allowed within permanent primary structures located in the I-1, I-2 or I-3 industrial zoning districts. The Pleasant Hill Police Department will be enforcing these measures and those in violation could receive a fine up to $500 per violation, not to exceed those allowed for a municipal infraction.
